The Bardo is a universal museum, is located in Tunis open to all the civilizations that made the country.
It is the oldest and most important Tunisian museum, it is classified as a historical monument and housed in the former apartments of the Palais des Beys in Tunis.
It is an exciting, enriching cultural center built in the second half of the nineteenth century, presents its rich collections of archeology, art, history, decorative art and ethnography, bringing together
main witnesses of the cultural and artistic history of Tunisia from prehistory to the Punic period, to the Numidian civilization, to the Mahdia submarine treasure, to the Roman period, to late antiquity and to Islam.
It is currently undergoing a major restructuring plan to improve its visibility and route.
